Big brows, little brows, bushy brows, skinny brows, slug brows, caterpillar brows.. it’s all about the brows right now, and Benefit have conjured up the perfect brow solution for everyone’s brows in the form of; Gimme Brow. I’ve watched my favourite YouTubers from Australia and New Zealand use Benefit Gimme Brow for a few months now, and have seen the amazing results it gives. So I couldn’t wait to try it for myself once it launched here in the UK. Benefit Gimme Brow £20* is described as a brow-volumising fibre gel, that is available in two shades; Light/Medium and Medium/Dark.
Benefit chose to launch Gimme Brow to coincide with ‘Brow Arch March’ which is an amazing initiative where Benefit have collaborated with Debenhams. During March you’re able to book a complementary brow wax and shaping at any Benefit Debenhams Brow Bar, in return for a suggested donation of £5 – all proceeds of which will be donated to the fantastic charity Look Good, Feel Better. Look Good, Feel Better is the only international charity that focuses on problems that are associated with the visible side effects of Cancer treatment. So make sure you book your appointment at a Debenhams Brow Bar this March to be able to participate in the Brow Arch March.
Benefit Gimme Brow is rather innovative in that it adheres to both the skin and brow hairs, thus creating brow hairs that are non existent. The formula is water-resistant which is perfect with Summer fast approaching (fingers crossed). Gimme Brow is also long-wearing, buildable and natural looking… 97% said brows looked fuller, 100% said it was smudge proof, 100% said it looked natural and 94% said that the results were long-wearing (from a consumer panel study conducted). Whatsmore, Benefit Gimme Brow won the Allure Best of Beauty Award 2013 – not bad for a brand new release, I think you’ll agree?!
Even though I’d watched dozens of YouTube video’s where Benefit Gimme Brow was used, I was still really surprised by how minute and compact the Gimme Brow tubes are.. being roughly as long as my middle finger in length. The bristled wand is so tiny.. smaller than my little fingernail, however its tiny size is perfect for small and soft strokes. My brows are naturally quite thick, and dark. I don’t need to do very much to them in terms of filling them in, but I do like to give them a more defined shape. To apply Gimme Brow I use the tip of the tapered wand in an upwards motion through the entirety of my brow to give each of the hairs a thin but even coating. I personally prefer to just add the product to my brow hairs rather than the skin.. I love how the small brush is able to catch every single brow hair to give such a natural effect.
After applying Gimme Brow, my brows are left feeling a touch sticky but that disappears within a couple of minutes of application. My brows look and feel so natural.. with no crispiness and no waxiness and I’m still able to move my brows with facial expressions rather than them feeling set to my face.
The shade Medium/Dark is such a perfect shade match for my brows, it doesn’t make them look too warm like a lot of ‘dark’ brow products do, nor does it make my eyebrows look ridiculously dark and unnatural either. The Light/Medium shade is a little more warm toned so if you prefer cool toned brow products, it’d be worthwhile popping to a Benefit counter (or when you’re having your Brow Arch March brow shaping) to get colour matched.
Benefit Gimme Brow is such a tiny little product, yet it creates such incredible results. It’s by far the best, quickest and easiest brow product I’ve ever used – it takes literally seconds to apply. I really like how it’s buildable too, so if you like the more defined brow.. you could go ahead and add another coat should you wish to. I however, find one application to be perfect, and they really do stay in place all day long. I really can’t recommend Gimme Brow enough, it’s such a fantastic brow product that negates the need for a brow pencil, brow wax or brow powder as it does it all, in a compact tube.. and gives such amazing results. Since getting my hands on Gimme Brow, all of my other brow products have been made redundant.
