It’s overwhelming how many different beauty box subscription services there are now available in the UK. It all used to be all about Glossybox and Birchbox, but there are a lot of really decent options out there depending on your budget. I’m sharing a selection of the top UK beauty box subscription services, in case you’re tempted to subscribe to one to enjoy during the year, and you fancy trying some new beauty boxes.
Glossybox
Glossybox is the largest beauty box subscription service within the UK, and one of the oldest too. They’re known for their pastel pink boxes, and tissue wrapped beauty treats, costing £13.25 a month for a month-long rolling contract, or £11.75 should you opt for a 12-month subscription.
Every month you get at least five products, and they offer Glossycredit where you can gain credit for completing surveys within the ‘Glossy Lounge’. The best part of being a Glossybox subscriber, is being able to purchase their special limited edition boxes at a preview sale ahead of general sale.
Birchbox
Birchbox describe themselves as being the UK’s number one beauty box, but I’m not sure if there’s stats to back that up. Their boxes are £10 a month, but you have to pay £2.95 shipping every single month, making it £12.95 per month.
Birchbox make their subscribers complete a profile, filling in survey questions to find out your preferences, skin type, hair type and product preferences too. Birchbox feature a lot of their own brands in the boxes which for me is a downside, as I prefer branded products, and they do a lot of repetition of brands like The Beauty Crop. If they didn’t do as much repetition, it’s a subscription I’d subscribe to myself.
Lookfantastic Box
The Lookfantastic Box is one of my personal favourite subscription boxes, and is designed to showcase the best the site has to offer. Featuring skincare, makeup, haircare and bodycare products for £15 per month. You can get discount if you subscribe for longer than one month at a time too, giving you even more discount.
You always get well known brands in the Lookfantastic box, and I feel like the value is always impressive each month with brands like Illamasqua, REN, Elemis, Avant and Medik8 being a selection of brands we’ve seen recently. What I personally like about Lookfantastic, is that you can get discount on the beauty advent calendar, if you’re a subscriber, so they reward their customers, which many beauty box brands don’t.
Look Incredible Box
Look Incredible Box is different to the other beauty boxes, as it features a selection of full sized beauty products and not samples like the others. It is more pricey though, at £35 per month, but you’re guaranteed 4-5 full sized products featuring brands like Gucci, Too Faced, MAC, NARS and more.
Feelunique Beauty Kit
The Feelunique Beauty Kit is another service which is different to the others, as it’s not a beauty box as such. It’s a service where you can choose five generous sized samples each month for £12.95, and you have to pay £3.95 shipping.
However, you get the £3.95 refunded back in the form of a gift voucher a week after your kit arrives which is good. You can get some really decent products and brands in the kit selection, including brands like Huda Beauty, Estee Lauder, Clinique and Clarins on offer.
Roccabox
Roccabox is a monthly subscription beauty box and my least favourite from all of the above that I’ve tried. Roccabox is £10 a month, with £3.95 shipping. You can save money on your subscription if you take a longer subscription. This month’s box is £13.95 but the value is £59, whereas the Lookfantastic box has over £130 worth of value!
The products are sometimes well known brands, but they also feature unknown brands too. For the price, I’d personally recommend the Lookfantastic box over Roccabox as it offers better value, and more well known products and brands.
Latest in Beauty Box
The last in the top UK beauty box subscription services round-up is Latest in Beauty, and they have two box options. They always have a range of curated beauty boxes which LiB have put together with a theme.
Then they have a monthly box option where you can specifically choose which products you want to receive each month from their Haul of Fame. It’s £12.95 per month, and you can choose any six products from the gallery, and the postage is £3.95.
I hope you found this round-up of the Top UK Beauty Box Subscription Services useful in helping to find your perfect beauty box.
