Ways To Make Extra Money Before Christmas

It’s officially 35 days until Christmas Day, and I have no idea where this year has gone? It’s flown by in a blink of an eye, and the Christmas countdown is officially on.

If you haven’t made a start on your Christmas shopping yet, I wanted to share some ways to make extra money before Christmas, most of which you can do from the comfort of your own home, which is perfect with the current global crisis.

My top tip is basically raiding your wardrobe and decluttering anything you don’t envisage wearing in the next twelve months. There’s no point keeping anything you haven’t worn for more than eighteen months, as it’s just taking up space and you could sell the items to generate some cash. It’s always good to try and declutter your wardrobe at least twice a year, and now is the perfect time to do it.

We can’t go out like we could a year ago, so if there’s anything you don’t think you’ll wear any time soon, why not sell it on eBay, Depop or Facebook Marketplace to make some money in the run-up to Christmas. Have you always wanted to sell your used clothing or shoes but were put off by the whole packaging process?

It really is a lot more simple these days, especially with many courier companies offering a pickup service so you don’t even need to queue in your local post office in order to post your items which is so much more convenient, especially with the current situation.

We are a week away from Black Friday, and it’s the perfect time to do any Christmas shopping you still have to do as many retailers are going to be offering really generous discounts. I’d recommend making a list ahead of Black Friday of the items you definitely need to buy, so you’re not swept away in the Black Friday hype, and bookmark your favourite retailers / products ahead of time so you’re fully prepared.

Next is a tip which is a great way to save money generally, and that’s the use of cashback services. You’ve probably heard so many people rave about ‘cashback’ but perhaps don’t know what it actually is, or how you can do it?

There a few different sites that offer cashback where they give you a small amount of ‘commission’ for every purchase you make via a retailer, after clicking a special link on say Topcashback or Quidco.

Your commissions then build up, and you can cash out in vouchers, by PayPal or even by BACS depending on your personal preferences. I always like to build up my cashback from January to October, and then I cash out in November ready for my Christmas shopping. It’s basically free money, and takes only seconds to do.

If you’re a blogger, you could also look to join a blogger network like Get Blogged, where they post blogging opportunities which you can apply for, and the fees are paid by PayPal. There’s opportunities for all genres of blog, and all domain authorities too, so you’re bound to find something to help you make a little extra money in the run up to Christmas.

My last recommendation for ways in which to make extra money before Christmas is using Fiverr or Upwork. If you can offer your services, you can find paid work on both platforms.

So for example, if you like to do digital illustrations or you’re great at writing CV’s, you can advertise your services and people can reach out to you if they want to hire you, it’s as simple as that.

I really hope you found these ways to make extra money before Christmas helpful.
